Streaming live from JetBrains\u2019 Amsterdam office, we\u2019ve transformed our caf\u00e9 into a neighborhood spot where developers can meet, celebrate the Go 1.27 release, and hear directly from the people who made it happen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hosted by Ainsley Clark and Jes\u00fas Espino<\/strong>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/jb.gg\/go-127-ob\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">event <\/a>will feature <strong>the team behind the Go 1.27 release \u2013 Robert Griesemer, Alan Donovan, Marc Dougherty, Cameron Balahan, and Joe Tsai<\/strong>. They\u2019ll share the story behind the release, discuss the most important language and tooling changes, and answer your questions live.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll also take a look at the community\u2019s first reactions to Go 1.27, discuss what\u2019s generating the most excitement, and demonstrate GoLand\u2019s day one support for the new release, showing how you can start using the latest language features right away.<\/p>\n<p>Join us for a party full of conversations, live demos, and community discussion \u2013 and celebrate the Go 1.27 release with the people who built it.<\/p>\n<h2>Guest performance<\/h2>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h4>Robert Griesemer, Software Engineer at Go Team, Google<\/h4>\n<p>Robert Griesemer is one of the creators of the Go programming language. In Go 1.27, he led the design of generic methods and contributed to the improved type inference for generics, making generic APIs more expressive and easier to use. Before Go, Robert worked on Google\u2019s V8 JavaScript engine and Sawzall and was a founding member of the teams behind the Java HotSpot virtual machine and the Strongtalk system.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/griesemer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GitHub<\/a><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h4>Alan Donovan, Software Engineer at Go Team, Google<\/h4>\n<p>Alan Donovan is a member of Google\u2019s Go team in New York and serves on the committees that review change proposals for the Go language and its library. He leads the development of analysis and refactoring tools, including <code>gopls<\/code>, the Go language server for Go that turns any editor into a Go IDE.<br \/> Alan has more than 25 years of experience building tools for software developers and holds degrees in Computer Science from Cambridge and MIT. He and Brian W. Kernighan are the co-authors of <em>The Go Programming Language<\/em> (Addison-Wesley, 2015).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/adonovan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GitHub<\/a><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h4>Marc Dougherty, Developer Relations Lead for Go at Go Team, Google<\/h4>\n<p><span>Marc Dougherty leads Developer Relations for Go at Google. Before joining the Go team, he worked as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), where he developed a passion for building resilient, observable distributed systems. He is responsible for Go\u2019s product strategy and contributes to Google\u2019s AI developer assistance and agent ecosystem initiatives. Before leading Go, Cameron managed programming language support and integrations for Google Cloud. Earlier in his career, he built low-latency trading systems in C and C++. Today, he prefers building them in Go.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/cameronbalahan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LinkedIn<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bsky.app\/profile\/cameronb.bsky.social\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BlueSky<\/a><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h4>Joe Tsai, Software Engineer at Tailscale<\/h4>\n<p>Joe Tsai is an engineer at Tailscale, where he works on problems related to data logging. He\u2019s a regular contributor to the Go project and most recently co-authored the <code>encoding\/json\/v2<\/code> package. Previously, he maintained Go libraries at Google and co-authored the <code>protobuf<\/code> module and the <code>cmp<\/code> package. He\u2019s been writing Go since 2012, starting with the implementation of a telemetry database at SpaceX.
